Start with a full house cleaning, top to bottom. Ceiling fans to baseboards.
Store any unused or obstructive items such as work out equipment, toiletries, etc.
The buyer is trying to picture themselves living in the space. So, too many personal items like pictures or artwork will steal the
focus of your showing appointment.
Rearrange the furniture if there is a way to make it more functional or appear more spacious.
Shampoo the carpet to remove as many stains as possible so you will know if it needs to be replaced.
Lubricate sticky doors, drawers, cabinets, etc. Things should open easily and quietly.
Replace discolored or cracked switch plates.
Don’t stuff everything in the closets or garage. The buyer needs to see the storage spaces.
Bleach the grout and caulk leaks.
Water heater needs to be double strapped and if it’s in a garage it must also be raised to meet health and safety requirements.
Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detectors need to be in working condition on each floor.
Fresh flowers, fireplace logs, and the scent of vanilla or cinnamon are welcoming.
